We are a private, family owned and operated business, established and based in Winchendon and Gardner for over 70 years. We are committed to serving our community with compassionate services at a cost that only a family owned provider can offer.


Scott A. Hebert - Owner, Funeral Director and Embalmer

Scott was born in New Bedford and lived in Dartmouth until moving with his family to Tewksbury in 1974. He moved to Gardner in November of 1989 has been associated with Fletcher Funeral Homes ever since. He received his training in both Lowell and New Bedford before settling down in Gardner.

Scott is a 1984 graduate of Austin Preparatory School in Reading, Massachusetts and a 1987 graduate of the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston. He received his license as a Registered Funeral Director and Embalmer later that year. He has been President of Fletcher Funeral Homes since 1995.

Professionally, Scott is an active member of the Massachusetts and National Funeral Directors Associations, the Funeral Service Professional Association and is a member by invitation of the Order of the Golden Rule. Only family-owned and privately-owned funeral homes that demonstrate their commitment to funeral service through dedication to their community's needs are accepted as Golden Rule funeral homes. Scott is completely dedicated to the care of each family who places their trust in him.


James M. Hebert - Funeral Director and Embalmer

Jim was born in Lowell and raised in Tewksbury. Deciding to become involved in the family funeral business, Jim moved to Gardner in 2003 and resides in the residence at Smith Funeral Home.

He is a 1995 graduate of Tewksbury High School and went on to graduate from the Winchendon School in 1996. He graduated from FINE Mortuary College in Norwood in 2005 and has been licensed with Fletcher Funeral Homes ever since.

Jim is an active member of the Otter River Sportsman’s Club. Professionally, Jim is a member of the Massachusetts and National Funeral Directors Association and is a member by invitation of the Order of the Golden Rule.
